A major reorganization at the NHM of Denmark is take to place from Jan 1, 2019 that will split museum research and teaching from curation and outreach. This will forever change the connection between research and society within the natural sciences.
Due to budget pressure, the Faculty of Science has decided to merge the Natural History Museum of Denmark with the Biological Institute at University of Copenhagen. Over the past 12 years, the NHM had become one of the leading scientific research institutes in the world. Now, many scientists are expected to leave.
