[Croatia Nov 10,2021]: Abiotic aragonite precipitates in the modern seawater-fed lake and provide an opportunity to understand how trace elements gets into the carbonate rock record.

Malo Jezero Lake in Croatia is fed with seawater. Every year aragonite needles precipitate during whitening events from the water column. This leads to carbonate accumulation. We study how uranium (U) gets from the water column into the sediments.
