We utilize multi-collector mass spectrometers (Thermo Neptune Plus MC-ICPMS and Thermo Quadrupole ICP-MS) to analyze isotope ratios of heavy metals. The mass spectrometers have a plasma source for ionization. The ions are accelerated and passed through a magnetic field to separate the ions by mass/charge ratio.

MC-ICPMS

The Multicollector-Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (MC-ICPMS) measures isotopic ratios.

ICP-Q-MS
The quadrupole Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-Q-MS) can measure trace elements at low concentration.

We are using the Starplan facilities at the Natural History Museum of Denmark.
