X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometers are used for elemental analyses of rocks, minerals, and other materials. It utilizes an X-ray beam to induce an excited state of atoms, resulting in the emission of X-rays. The wavelength spectrum of these emitted X-rays are characteristic for the atoms present in the sample. The Innov-X Alpha Series XRF is a portable version of an XRF spectrometer, ready for use in the field and in the lab. It measures 13 different light elements and 21 different heavy elements.
